Finding happy and passing it along

I am currently a full time employee of a Boston based live event production company, and loving every minute of it.

The time of COVID provided plenty of loss for the world and my family was no exception.
In June of 2020, I lost my grandfather to Alzheimer's at the height of pandemic. I suddenly found myself unemployed and most importantly, no longer helping to care for my best friend, "Pop Pop". My time was completely empty to start something new.

In August of 2020, I was lucky enough to find a job that challenges me in new ways, and continues to draw from past experience.

Since that year that I felt like I lost so much, I remind myself each day of everything I have, and everything I can give.
Be Kind. Be Happy. Be Thankful.
Past
Employment
After graduating from college, I began working in an office setting while planning small, intimate events on the side.

A new door soon opened to an Events Manager position at a location that had a wide open event space; a blank canvas for anything.

Following my time as an Events Manager, I found myself on the other side of events; selling event rentals to the planners and clients themselves.

Each position has developed skills needed for overall event planning, and my current position is no exception.

I give credit to those who know what they want to do for the rest of their life when they are 18 years old. I did not. I chose a college based on comfort; knowing my sister was also a student there, made it an easy decision.

Do I wish I chose a school tailored more towards hospitality and events? Sure, but I would not trade my experience for the world.

I was able to take classes that catered towards event planning, and also completed a certification in wedding and event planning shortly after graduating. I found who I was at the time, and grew into part of who I am now. The people and life experiences help shape where my life would end up.

Most importantly, I have found that real learning comes from hands on experience.
